Boutique Hotels in Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai has earned the tag of the 'The Rose of the North' and is renowned in Thailand for its rich history, beautiful scenery and the charm and friendliness of the local people. Whether you choose to stay in the city or in the surrounding countryside, the area is a delight to visit and a stay in one of the boutique hotels listed will provide you with a memorable experience.

High Season & Low Season
Hotel rates are often higher during the period from November-February which is the tourist high season in Thailand. Some hotels may also charge an additional premium for stays over Christmas and New Year which may include a compulsory fee for a gala dinner.
Overseas and Thai tourists flock to Chiang Mai to celebrate Songkran, the Thai New Year. The Songkran Water Festival takes place in mid-April (usually April 13th-15th) and rooms usually fill up quickly and higher rates may apply. The same is true for the enchanting Loy Krathong festival in November and advance booking is recommended in both instances.
Discounted rates are often available during the low season which is roughly from July-October and corresponds with the rainy season in much of Thailand, including Chiang Mai.
Lanna Style
You may notice various references to
Lanna style throughout this website. Chiang Mai people are justifiably
proud of their culture and heritage which marks the region as very
distinct from other parts of Thailand. The ancient northern kingdom of Lan Na ('Land of a
million rice fields') has over 700 years of history and up until the
early 1900's the region remained largely independent. Influences from
Burma, Laos and China can be found in Chiang Mai's temples, art and
architecture and this Lanna style is reflected in many of
the boutique hotels listed on this site.
